About Me

Lynn Otto, LPC

Hi! I’m Lynn. I am a licensed professional counselor in Oregon, as well as a National Certified Counselor. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association of Contextual and Behavioral Science. I have a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, as well an MFA in creative writing and a BA in theater arts and English. I have done additional training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), walk and talk therapy (or hiking therapy), eco-anxiety and climate change grief, religious trauma, attachment, ADHD, and relationships impacted by ADHD and/or chronic illness.

My life, like yours, has had difficult moments and challenges. I’ve learned that this is actually a pretty normal part of being a human being. But I like my life, and I like my work as a counselor, because it means spending meaningful time with other human beings who are working through difficult moments and challenges toward a satisfying life, which I think is super cool. Some of the other activities that bring me satisfaction are outdoor stuff like hiking and camping, as well as indoor stuff like reading, watching TV, and playing board games. I’m married, have grown-up kids, grandkids, and a pretty good dog.
